Golden chai

Serves two. Takes twenty minutes.

Belly + heartwarming. Anxiety reducing anti-inflammatory properties.

 

two tsp turmeric   /   two cinnamon sticks   /   two star anise   /   two cardamom pods   /   four cloves   /   one whole nutmeg   /   three black peppercorns   /   two tsp date syrup or one tsp organic vanilla extract   /   mince half tbsp fresh ginger   /   two mugs unsweetened almond or soy milk   /   two black tea bags

 

+ In a saucepan, bring milk and spices to a boil and simmer for ten minutes.

+ Steep tea bags in the spiced milk for a further five minutes. Strain the liquid through a sieve, into another saucepan.

+ If you own a hand blender, whisk the spiced milk over a low heat to froth.

+ Serve immediately.
